Dr. James (Jim) Mueller is a Board Certified Anaesthesiologist
with Added Qualifications in Pain Management and a Diplomat of the
American Board of Pain Medicine who also completed a Fellowship in
Neuroanaesthesia.
Dr. Mueller attended the University of South Carolina (Associate
degree of Science with Highest Honors) and the College of Charleston,
Virginia (B.S.-Chemistry) following which he received his Doctor of
Medicine (M.D.) degree from the Medical University of South
Carolina.
He completed his Internship and Residency training in Anaesthesiology
at the Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia after which he completed
a Fellowship in Neuroanaesthesia at the same facility. He then
completed additional training in Regional Anaesthesia and Pain
Management.
Dr. Mueller served as a Staff Anaesthesiologist at the Portsmouth
Naval Hospital from 1987-1989. He was an Assistant Professor of
Clinical Anaesthesia at both the Medical College of Hampton Roads
(Norfolk, VA) and the Medical College of Virginia (Richmond). He has
been in private practice since 1989.
Dr. Mueller was recalled to active military duty during Operation
Desert Storm. He has served in several capacities in the U.S. military
(Air Force, Navy and Naval Reserve) since 1970. Dr. Mueller is a
published author of scientific articles in Journals as well as in text
books.
